Also, take note that this seems to have been ommitted from the first copy-paste of the rules.

Arbitration Contract Extensions:
Players new to the Major Leagues must have six years of service time before they can become a free agent. In their first three seasons, most players earn the league minimum. After three seasons, the players become arbitration eligible. In arbitration, the players will make more money – in essence, what is deemed as “fair dollar value” for how that player is producing. In some cases, players are “super-two” eligible, earning themselves four years of arbitration.
Because OOTP handles contract extensions poorly, LBLB is forced to regulate extensions to players who are not yet free agency eligible.
Players MUST be-signed to their base asking salary in year one. However, unlike most other leagues, GM's in LBLB, GM's have the unique ability to sign their players to contract extensions that cover their arbitration years starting in their 2nd year of arbitration.
For multi-year deals starting in the 2nd year of arbitration, the player's salary MUST increase AT LEAST 30% each season for the duration of the deal. If a GM wishes to avoid arbitration with a multi-year deal he MUST follow the 30% salary increase protocol. This type of deal MAY NOT cover any of the players Free Agency (FA) years.
If a GM wishes to wait to buy out a players arbitration years until the final year of arbitration, a GM gains the additional incentive of being able to sign a player to cover 2 years of FA eligibility past their arbitration years. However, the final year of arbitration must be at least be a 30% increase from the previous year. The first year of FA must also follow the 30% increase rule and the second year of FA must be identical to the first-year.
Ex: If your player asks for $8,500,000 for his final year of arbitration then he receives $8,500,000. Then, following the 30% salary protocol, his 2 years will come at a cost of at least $11,050,000 per season.
Contract Extensions to players who are only eligible for league minimum contract renewal are strictly FORBIDDEN and will be negated.
If you choose to extend into FA years, Team/Player Options may ONLY be used on the final FA year and should follow the previously mentioned protocol.
Options are strictly FORBIDDEN during arbitration years.
Super-2 players must follow the same guidelines.
